You say washroom, I say bathroom

Sometimes it can be difficult to switch off and forget about work. On a recent trip to New York I found myself taking note of how things are done Stateside.
On the language front there are a few basic differences:

We say bathroom (referring to a public convenience) – they say restroom (a bathroom has a bath in it)
We say basin – they say sink (an easy way to remember in the UK is that Basins are for bathrooms and sinks are for kitchens)
We say tap – they say faucet
We say plug hole – they say drain
We say flannel – they say washcloth
